Our Doctors:

  • Michele Stech, VMD

I am the proud owner of Parkwood Animal Hospital, having recently taken the reins from the previous owner, who started this practice in 1983. This practice has a long and faithful history of serving the residences of this area, and I am delighted to continue the tradition!

I am a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine with an undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in Animal Science.  I have been practicing veterinary medicine for over 20 years now, beginning my career at a mixed animal practice in New Jersey then moving to Virginia for eleven years at a small animal practice with occasional stints at the local emergency hospital.

My husband, a radiology nurse, and I have fallen in love with this area of the globe, and we feel that it is the perfect place for our son, who is an active 5 year old, to grow and thrive.  We currently share our household with three cats (all rescued and patched back together from various traumas), but just recently lost our dear golden retriever of 11 years.

  • Cindy Rowe, DVM:

My name is Dr. Cindy Rowe and I am proud to have been a part of Parkwood Animal Hospital for 27 years.  I am a graduate of N.C. State University both with my undergraduate degree in Animal Science and my DVM from their College of Veterinary Medicine.

I have been in small animal practice for 31 years, starting with a practice in Raleigh and some after-hours emergency work before finding my perfect fit at Parkwood.  My family and I love this area and my son and daughter have enjoyed growing up here.

My son is a student at NCSU and my daughter (currently at ECU) plans to pursue a veterinary career as she in particular shares my passion for animals and their well-being.  We share our home with our rescued pit Savannah Banana.

Our Staff:

  • Matt

came to Parkwood Animal Hospital while enrolled as a student at N.C. State.  He graduated in 2007 with a degree in Biology and currently lives in Raleigh. He is a competent and confident veterinary assistant, kind to our patients and handling any situation with aplomb.  He is capable of all kinds of tasks and always makes people feel welcome

  • Jennifer

Jennifer is our veterinary technician.  She is intuitive and takes her job seriously, while managing to bring out smiles in the other staff and clients.  She always has a kind word or treat for the pets that come through our doors every day.

'I graduated from Miller-Motte College with an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology.  I have fourteen years of experience working with dogs and cats in small animal veterinary practices.  I actually started working for Parkwood Animal Hospital as an after-school kennel helper back in high school, and I have returned to my roots as a technician.  I have a sweet American Bulldog-Boxer named Cassidy who has special needs for ambulation.'

  • Alison

Alison arrived at Parkwood Animal Hospital in August of 2005.  She is originally from West Virginia and moved to Greensboro where she began her career as a veterinary assitant and has remained in the field for15 years.  Alison has a keen grasp of animal behavior and often gives helpful advice to clients.  She helps keep the doctors running in a timely fashion and cares for our patients as if they were her own.

'My household includes Chewy, Tink and Bella, all of them rescued from the streets or animal clinics in which I've worked.'
